Biotech Sales Consultant

Sioux Center, IA Facility

Reports to: Director Business Development

Position Summary:

The Biotech Sales Consultant will identify and engage new clients as well as work directly with current clients. Position will be responsible for identifying scientific and business needs of client while promoting Exemplar Genetics’ ExeGen® MiniSwine models, custom model development program, the GE animal services and the advantages they can provide to the clients.

Essential Role:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet and exceed corporate goals
  • Identify & develop business relationships with prospective researchers, scientists, foundations, corporations and contract research organizations
  • Delivers pricing, proposals and necessary information to customers on a regular basis
  • Utilize scientific understanding to uncover new possible research partners and clients
  • Involved in business planning, forecasting and execution
  • Attends trade shows as needed to promote brand, products and services

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be a key leader/producer within the Exemplar Genetics team
  • ExeGen® MiniSwine model sales duties
    • Specific focus on ExeGen® commercial models
    • Develop relationships with drug, device, biotech, academic and start-up organizations who have need/use for our ExeGen® models.
    • Engage end users, making them aware of the models and outlining their utility in the preclinical space
    • Identify, solicit and engage new customers on an ongoing basis
    • Follow up with current clients as appropriate based on products or services purchased to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Reports issues to management staff as notified by customers
    • Works with transportation and procurement divisions ensuring prompt delivery of models
    • Effectively communicates challenges and customer concerns in a timely manner to appropriate management staff
    • Excellent literary skills for the creation of written marketing communications including grants, publications and technical bulletins
    • Other duties as assigned
  • ExeGen® Custom Model Development sales duties
    • Engage end users, making them aware of the ExeGen® Custom Model program and outlining the utility in the preclinical efficacy space
    • Identify, solicit and engage new customers on an ongoing basis
    • Work with staff internally in developing proposal, timelines and costs
    • Promote Exemplars’ capabilities at appropriate tradeshows, conferences and institutions
  • ExeGen® GE Animal Services sales duties
    • Engage end users, making them aware of the ExeGen® GE Animal Services and outlining the utility in the preclinical efficacy space
    • Identify, solicit and engage new customers on an ongoing basis
    • Work with staff internally in developing proposal, timelines and costs
    • Promote Exemplars’ capabilities at appropriate tradeshows, conferences and institutions

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited institution, with a science and business background
  • Successful track record of sales and account management

Working Conditions:

  • Travel will be required
  • Normal office environment
