Reports to: Director Business Development

Position Summary:
The Sales Manager – Medical Research Models will identify and engage academic researchers, contract research organizations (CROs), and therapeutics companies that would benefit from the use of Exemplar Genetics’ ExeGen® miniswine models. Position will be responsible for the management of model availability, execution of purchase orders, logistics of model delivery, and general customer satisfaction.

Essential Role:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet and exceed corporate goals
  • Identify & develop business relationships with prospective researchers, scientists, foundations, corporations and contract research organizations
  • Delivers pricing, proposals and necessary information to customers on a regular basis
  • Utilize scientific understanding to uncover new possible research partners and clients
  • Involved in business planning, forecasting and execution
  • Attends trade shows as needed to promote brand and services

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be a key leader/producer within the Exemplar Genetics team
  • ExeGen® miniswine model sales duties
    • Develop relationships with contract research organizations that actively promote and market ExeGen® models.
    • Engage end users, including drug, device and biotech companies making them aware of the models and outlining their utility in the preclinical space
    • Work in collaboration with CROs to market Exemplar Genetics’ ExeGen® miniswine models to their end users
    • Specific focus on ExeGen® LDLR and ExeGen®TP53 models
    • Identify, solicit and engage new customers on an ongoing basis
    • Follow up with current clients as appropriate based on products or services purchased to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Reports issues to management staff as notified by customers
    • Works with transportation and procurement divisions ensuring prompt delivery of models
    • Effectively communicates challenges and customer concerns in a timely manner to appropriate management staff
    • Actively perform market research on existing and potential new models for Exemplar Genetics
    • Excellent literary skills for the creation of written marketing communications including grants, publications and technical bulletins
    • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree from accredited institution, with a science and business background
  • Successful track record of sales and account management

Working Conditions:
